I thought it would be fun to add some additional products to the Tindie store, so I fleshed out a couple fun projects I've worked on, collected the code and wrote some docs/assembly instructions, and made store pages for them:
- StompByte: an 8-bit sample player triggered by a footswitch
- MidiFoot: a one-button class-compliant MIDI controller/footswitch
Both of these projects fit well with the Geek Funk Labs ethos of "fun musical gadgets that you can hack/build yourself to make them more useful". As for the new SquishBox model, I designed PCBs and had a small batch printed by OSHPark.
I also designed some fun stickers for all the Geek Funk Labs products, to give the enclosures some flair and identity. This endeavor is starting to feel like running my own little electronics shop, but I'm sticking to the idea that the designs are all free and the parts are easy/cheap to find.
